Proximity voice handles a conversation, but a campus event needs someone who can be heard over the crowd. A megaphone is a social gadget: hold it up, press to talk, and your voice carries farther and sounds like it comes through a cone. The alternate use can play a short chant, a horn or a countdown, which is most of what a student event needs.
How it fits. Voice already rides the websocket with a reach that comes from proximity, so the megaphone raises that reach for one speaker and applies a band-limited, slightly distorted filter. The canned sounds are positional events through the existing sound path, not new assets. A held pose and a cone model are enough for peers to see why someone is loud. The protocol needs a per-speaker mute and a rate limit, because one megaphone can otherwise own the whole campus.
Scope.
