A muted line at the bottom of Settings:

the version ("NeoKOM 0.6.0");
the commit it was built from, when the build knows it (images and CI builds);
web or desktop.

For example "NeoKOM 0.6.0 (07cfc19) · webb". The commit tells home-container builds between releases apart, since they carry the last release's version number. D-060.

The user, 2026-10-21: "I cannot typically see which version of neokom I am running without making a post or simply knowing what is running in each deployment. Add a little comment under the settings tab from the next release onwards." Merged in #247; main run #401 green. Verified: settings.spec on desktop, Android and iPhone checks the last line of Settings ("NeoKOM X.Y.Z · webb", with the commit for image builds); screenshots looked at. Image builds pass NEOKOM_COMMIT (tools/web-image.sh, tools/web-image-ci.sh).
