The night sky is a generated panorama with a moon and clouds. It could have weather of its own: aurora curtains on a strong solar wind, a meteor shower on known dates, and the occasional bright satellite. These are rare, look-up events that give night a reason beyond the flashlight.

How it fits. The sky is already a shader and a panorama; aurora is an additive layer, meteors are short-lived streaks. The server can own the ephemeris so every client sees the same sky, or the client can derive it from the real date and a seed. No new assets: the shapes are procedural.

Scope.

  • An aurora layer with curtains, driven by a solar-wind number.
  • Meteor showers on a small calendar, with a rate and a radiant.
  • A rare satellite pass with a moving point.
  • A "look up" hint in the HUD when something is happening.
  • Optional real space-weather fetch; deterministic fallback offline.

Related. #192 (sun clock), #187 (seasons), #172 (photo mode).
