How it fits. This is a decal layer over the snow, placed from poses already on the wire. No new per-frame traffic: the local client stamps a track at each footfall or wheel contact, and the server can own the fade time. The existing trail code is the natural place to hang it.

Scope.

A footprint and tire-track decal layer on snow.
Stamp from footfalls and wheel contact; no stamp while flying.
A slow fade and a cap on the number of decals.
Tracks read by the terrain normal so they follow slopes.
Depends on the weather work landing (#47, #48).
