The campus generates stories every session: a photo finish, a new record, a guestbook note, a party, a geocache first find. A weekly newspaper would collect them into a readable page, pinned to the notice boards and available in the HUD. It makes the server feel like a place with a memory.

How it fits. The server already owns event results and records; with the guestbook (#171) it also owns notes. A newspaper is a generated digest, not a new simulation: a small template filling in names, places and values from the last week. The paper is rendered as an egui page and, optionally, as a texture on a notice board.

Scope.

  • A weekly digest with headlines, results, records and a letter from the editor.
  • Deterministic generation from stored facts, so the same paper is reproducible.
  • A notice-board texture and a HUD reader.
  • An archive of past issues.
  • No user-authored articles in the first version.

Related. #171 (guestbook), #196 (replay), #199 (meetups), #200 (records).
