Tag is a game the campus can already support: players, places to hide and a reason to run. Sardines is the version that works for a small group: one seeker, everyone else hides together, and each found player joins the hiding spot until it is crowded. It turns interiors, roofs and the forest into one playground without a new map.
How it fits. Players are client-authoritative, so a round is a rule set over positions and chat state, not a new authority model. A host starts a round, everyone gets a role and the seeker gets a countdown, and the HUD shows only what the game needs. Proximity is already known for voice, so "found" can be a distance check at the hiding spot; positions are already on the wire.
Scope.

The tag half exists. The event catalog's
HideAndSeekround has one seeker, a head start, a tag radius and a last-one-standing win (5c97466), with the server owning its clock and phase.Sardines is still a different shape: a found player does not join the hiding pile, there is no shrinking play area or last-minute countdown, no whisper to the pile and no score for the least-found hider. Leaving open.
