The campus is big and the server has one shared roster. A party is the missing layer between "a stranger" and "the whole server": invite one or two people, give the group a color and a name, and see each other's markers on the map and through walls. A party also decides who a rally beacon, a duel and a tour are for.

How it fits. ServerMsg::Welcome already carries every player; a party is a small server-owned set of ids with an invite handshake. The HUD already draws player labels and the map already draws markers, so the party color is a filter on those. Voice stays proximity-based; a party does not need a private channel, though a party voice option is a natural follow-up.

Scope.

  • Invite, accept, leave and kick, with a timeout.
  • A party color and a short name, visible on the map and in the ID card.
  • Through-wall markers only at close range; no wallhack at campus scale.
  • Party membership gates rally beacons and tour waypoints.
  • No party chat: proximity voice is the point.
